K. S. Sri Giri Prasath — the "K. S." expands to his father K. Sivashanmugam — was 43 years old at the time of his 2026 victory in Singanallur. He completed SSLC and HSC at G.D. Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Coimbatore (HSC in March 2001), and then moved to Chennai for the five-year integrated B.A., B.L. (Hons.) programme at the School of Excellence in Law, Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, finishing in May 2007.

Note on his degree: TVK's own English candidate roster lists him as "B.Sc., B.L. (Hons)". His sworn 2026 affidavit at Myneta records the degree as B.A., B.L. (Hons.) — the affidavit is authoritative; the "B.Sc." line on the party roster appears to be a printed-roster typo.

For roughly 18 years between graduation and his 2026 win he practised as an advocate. His sworn affidavit describes the occupation simply as "Advocate Profession". His voter enrolment is in 16 Egmore, Chennai and his largest single immovable asset is a Chetpet (Chennai) residential building valued at Rs 3.33 cr — consistent with a Chennai-based litigation practice, which in turn fits the demands of TVK's state-level Advocate Wing role.

The Singanallur Bus Terminus is one of the city's three major intercity stands; the ESI Medical College Hospital sits inside the constituency; and Singanallur (Sungam) Lake and its boat house are local landmarks.

The economic mix is unusually wide: SIDCO industrial estates, foundries, pump-set and textile job-work clusters all sit cheek-by-jowl with TIDEL Park's IT workforce.
